Westlawn Camp Quality Ride -from: Virginia A

Around 60 bike riders left Yamba at 9:15am Sunday 2nd June.

A few of the now famous Woodford Island Crew were there

in our new TTS outfits, which we wore with pride  . . . .

and noticed many other riders eyeing off enviously!

There were 3 stops on the way to Grafton.

Maclean for a quick stop outside Spar.

The Lawrence Tavern for lunch and 1 hour break.  This gave time

for lots of socialising and most important - food intake.

The next leg was to Southgate which gave us another short break and time for the moderate riders to catch up.

The round of applause that greeted us as we arrived at the Grafton Racecourse

was appreciated - we had achieved what we had set out to do.  It was a great feeling

and watching more riders arrive over the next hour added to the enjoyment of the day.

The time at the racecourse allowed for refuelling with food and of course the famous modelling of the Woodford Crew for the media.  (Copies of the Review 7th June sold out).  Commitments completed, a hardy 8 of the Woodford Crew chose to ride back again to Maclean, the 100kms in a day beckoning to be achieved.

This was a much faster ride than on the way up, sitting on 30-32kms all the way to the ferry. The wind was blustering but the hardy 8 continued, the only slow up was to let the female rider, being myself, catch up after Kelsall Hill.  The ferry crossing was of great relief to prepare for the final kilometres.

I can tell you I was looking forward to turning into Golf Links Road and ravenously enjoyed the hot chips Graeme Adams had ready on our arrival home.

Well I had just completed 104kms . . . . .

Anyway it was great fun and everyone had a great day.
